Congratulations

Please join me in congratulating Bishop Al & Inez Saucedo, Bishop Saucedo has accepted the Pastoral position at the Bakersfield Church. The appointment is affective as of August 18th, 2008, however I will be present at the Bakersfield Church on the first Sunday morning in September (the 7th) to install him as Pastor. The Saucedos' are excited about returning to Pastoral Ministry. They have a wealth of experience and a passion for the harvest. You might want to contact them and give them your vote of confidence, and let them know that you are praying with them.

Blessings, Bishop Davis

When Was the Last Time that You Fasted?

Isaiah 58:6-14

When we think of fasting we generally think of turning down a plate, or not eating for a certain span of time. Isaiah shares perspectives that are not what most consider when thinking of fasting.

Often when we fast, we do so to spend time seeking God’s intervention in situations and circumstances that are beyond our ability to solve, handle or deal with. Isaiah reveals often times when we fast our lives are not really impacted because we continue with the same attitudes toward one another: fighting quarreling, mistreating, cheating, manipulating and spreading rumors about one another. Still somehow we think God is going to honor our fasting and prayers.

Blessing to All of You

Dear COGOP California Family – Pastors & Congregations

We wish to express our sincere appreciation to all of you for your cards, calls, food and floral arrangements. Your expressions of kindness meant a lot to our family during this difficult period of the passing of losing a loved one.

In addition, please know that your prayers were felt as God’s grace carried us through. God is faithful and we will continue to lift our eyes up to the hills from whence cometh our help.

With love,
Bishop Jeffery and Terry Davis
